About CMJ Australia
CMJ Australia’s journey first began in 2015 as a conversation between two long-time friends over a bottle of wine whilst camping on the Great Ocean Road. Our families had been camping, surfing and enjoying everything that the beach has to offer for decades, and Jules wanted to find a product that would help surfers and swimmers stay warm, get dry and get changed in places where there was no shelter or privacy.
After much thought and extensive research, we came up with our microfibre Hooded Change Towels. Microfibre was the key, with its durability and absorbency making it a product both our customers and we would have confidence in. Being heavily involved in the local Wye River Surf Life Saving Club, we had a chance to get feedback from users, which we incorporated into the development of our new product.
CMJ Australia first began life as “Cover Me Jules” and later as “CMJ All Sports”, however as our capabilities changed and the range of products has broadened in 2021 our business operates across two channels; CMJ Australia for all custom products and Cover Me Jules Australia for retail channel products.
Now in its sixth year, CMJ Australia is proud to be licensees of Surf Life Saving Australia, and proud supporters of the iconic Lorne Pier to Pub race, “the Aussies” – Surf Life Saving National Titles Youth, Masters and Open, and the Torquay Danger 1000 swim.
CMJ Australia is a company who values inclusion and volunteers. Our aim is to not only provide a quality and valued product but to be inclusive and give back to the community. No matter the size of your club or company we will endeavour to look after you.

Microfibre is environmentally friendly and superior to cotton towelling in several ways.
Absorbency - Microfibre is made up of tiny strands thinner than a human hair. This is what gives it its high absorbency. Despite its light weight, microfibre can hold up to 7 times its own weight in water.
Quick Drying – The tiny strands that make up the microfibre fabric allows it to dry much faster than cotton. It dries up to three times faster than cotton terry towelling yet uses significantly less power as the clothes drier uses a much lower temperature to dry.
Long Lasting - Anyone who’s ever cleaned the lint filter on their clothes dryer knows that even the best quality cotton sheds lint. That is why cotton towels and clothing have a lifespan. Microfibre does NOT shed lint – ever. This means the lifespan of microfibre is as long as you want it to be.
Recyclable - Being a synthetic product means that microfibre is recyclable, which reduces landfill.
Microfibre is environmentally friendly in a number of ways.
Water Usage - Cotton crops require huge amounts of water for irrigation, and as most growers utilise both fertilisers and insecticides in the production of the crop, the impact on local water tables and waterways is significant.
In addition, during the milling and weaving of cotton textiles, thousands of gigalitres of water are used in the dyeing of terry cotton cloth which is then released into local waterways. Microfibre, being a synthetic textile, is produced and dyed using a fraction of the water to produce the same amount of cloth.
Energy Usage - Microfibre is made up of tiny strands thinner than a human hair. This is what gives it its high absorbency. Despite its light weight, microfibre can hold up to 7 times its own weight in water. For the same reason, microfibre dries much faster than cotton. It dries up to three times faster than cotton terry towelling yet uses significantly less power as the clothes drier uses a much lower temperature to dry. This translates into hundreds of gigawatts of energy saved by those using microfibre products.
Long Lifespan - Anyone who’s ever cleaned the lint filter on their clothes dryer knows that even the best quality cotton sheds lint. That is why cotton towels and clothing have a lifespan. Microfibre does NOT shed lint – ever. This means the lifespan of microfibre is as long as you want it to be.

Your CMJ Australia towel is completely colour fast and can go in the washing machine. We recommend washing WITHOUT fabric softener for maximum absorbency performance. Fabric softener coats the fibres and makes them less absorbent. Our Hooded Towels are soft and absorbent from first use.
Your Hooded Towel can go in the dryer and will also easily line dry.
You may wish to wash your new towel as matter of preference, but the CMJ Australia Hooded Towels are safe to use straight away and are absorbent from first use.
Do not iron your Hooded Towel or use bleach when washing your towel.
